A Quiet Cafe near Yoyogi Hachiman Shrine

Before we know it, the New Year will be here.
In Japan, many people visit shrines for hatsumōde, the first shrine visit of the year.

I often visit Yoyogi Hachiman Shrine, not only at the beginning of the year but throughout the seasons.
Whenever I go there, I like to stop by a small cafe that I’ve grown very fond of.

The cafe can be reached from inside the shrine grounds, and it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking carefully.
Because of that, it feels like a hidden spot—quiet, charming, and very relaxing.

A lovely cafe owner welcomes guests warmly, often accompanied by her sweet cat.
You can really feel the care and thought put into everything, from the tea to the snacks and sweets.

As the year comes to a close, I hope the New Year brings you many peaceful and happy moments.
Thank you for reading, and see you again next year.
