Today, I’d like to introduce a simple dish of pork and lettuce steamed in a bamboo steamer and served with a savory garlic sauce.
The preparation is very easy — simply arrange the pork and lettuce in a bamboo steamer and steam them gently.
The sauce served alongside the steamed pork and lettuce is a fragrant yurinchi-style aromatic sauce made with soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil.

It pairs beautifully with the light flavor of steamed pork and lettuce, making simple steamed dishes even more delicious.
This aromatic sauce is also very versatile.
In addition to steamed dishes, it pairs well with cold pork shabu-shabu, steamed chicken, or even grilled meats.
Enjoy it together with simple steamed dishes and discover how much flavor it adds.
Yurinchi-Style Aromatic Sauce
Ingredients
Green onion (finely chopped) 4 tablespoons
Soy sauce 2 tablespoons
Vinegar 2 tablespoons
Sugar 1 tablespoon
Sesame oil (dark) 1 tablespoon
Garlic (grated) 1 clove
Ginger (grated) 1 teaspoon
Chili oil 1 teaspoon
Oyster sauce 1 teaspoon
Ground white sesame seeds 2 teaspoons
Toasted white sesame seeds 2 teaspoons
Directions
Finely chop the green onion.
Combine all the ingredients together and mix well.

Bamboo-Steamed Pork and Lettuce
Ingredients
Lettuce as desired
Thinly sliced pork as desired
Directions
Line the bamboo steamer with lettuce, then arrange the thinly sliced pork on top.
Steam in a well-heated steamer with plenty of steam for about 10–15 minutes.
The steamed pork and lettuce are delicious simply with a little salt, but they also pair wonderfully with the yurinchi-style aromatic sauce.
Please try both ways and enjoy whichever you prefer.
