Pork Rice Bowl with Salted Lemon Green Onion Sauce

There are days when you spend hours cleaning, working, or simply staying home, and all you want is something easy but genuinely satisfying.

This rice bowl was exactly that kind of meal for me.

I mixed freshly cooked rice with shiso leaves and white sesame seeds, topped it with crispy pork belly, and finished everything with plenty of salted lemon green onion sauce.

The freshness of lemon, the aroma of green onions, and the richness of sesame oil come together beautifully in this simple but deeply flavorful sauce.

It’s delicious with pork, but it also works wonderfully with beef, chicken, seafood, or even as a dipping sauce for yakiniku at home.

About the Salted Lemon Green Onion Sauce

The star of this dish is the salted lemon green onion sauce.

The combination of fresh lemon juice, black pepper, garlic, and sesame oil creates a sauce that pairs perfectly with both rice and grilled meat.

This time I used crispy pork belly, but the sauce is incredibly versatile and easy to adapt depending on what you have at home.

Even a simple bowl of plain white rice becomes special with this sauce.

I then topped it with pork belly slices cooked until crispy in a small amount of sesame oil and generously spooned the salted lemon green onion sauce over everything.

An extra squeeze of lemon makes it even more refreshing.

Of course, plain white rice works perfectly too, and you can easily swap the pork for beef, chicken, or seafood depending on your mood.

A Simple Bowl for Relaxed Days at Home

This is the kind of meal that feels effortless but still comforting and satisfying.

The bright lemon flavor and fragrant green onions keep the dish light, while the savory sauce ties everything together beautifully.

It’s simple home cooking, but somehow it makes an ordinary day feel just a little better.
